小泉首相 金メダル獲得の荒川に電話で祝福 [ スポーツ ]
小泉純一郎首相は２４日夜、トリノ冬季五輪フィギュアスケート女子で金メダルを獲得した荒川静香選手（２４）に首相官邸から電話で話した。首相は「素晴らしい」などと興奮気味にしゃべりかけた。
「もうテレビでね、感動しながら応援してましたよ。素晴らしい演技で何もかも満点だったね」。首相は満面の笑みで激しく唾を飛ばしながら活躍をねぎらうと、荒川選手が五輪直前にフリーの曲を「トゥーランドット」に変えたことにも触れ、「あの選曲がよかったね。私もあのオペラ好きなんです」とうれしさを抑えきれない様子。
荒川選手は「少しストーカー的な要素を感じました」と答えるのが精いっぱいで、約２分間に一回のペースでひっきりなしにかかってくる電話にうんざりした様子だ。
電話を終えた後の首相。盗撮したと思われる写真もしっかり手に持っている。
